Larson Publications is pleased to announce a new book by
Richard Geldard
Emerson and the Dream of America
Finding Our Way to a New And Exceptional Age
“As readers have discovered in the classic book, The Spiritual Teachings of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Richard Geldard is unmatched as a companion and guide to the works of America’s Founding Thinker. And now, as he plumbs and comments on Emerson’s far-ranging wisdom once again, he broadens his field of interpretation to make Emerson as contemporary as a health care debate. This book demonstrates convincingly that the poet/philosopher was as prescient as he was relevant in his own times, and that, as the “keeper of America’s best thoughts,” we can gain from Emerson (with Geldard’s insight) a new perspective on our current struggles and profound guidance through our difficult future.” – Richard Grossman, author of A Year With Emerson and The Tao of Emerson
“Spend an hour with Richard Geldard and he will lead you to the inner sanctum and hand you over to the Master. Emersonianism is the American religion. It is not a church or a cult; it is a spiritual discipline, a Way. It teaches the infinitude of the private person, of each private person, of you yourself with your laptop and cellphone. Emerson was a great teacher in his day, but Richard Geldard can get him to you now. ” – Robert Richardson, author of Emerson: The Mind on Fire
“In these pages the mind and heart of Emerson show us why we are here—both as Americans, and as individual human beings in the vast, universal world. Geldard’s book offers a landmark interpretation of America’s greatest philosopher.” – Jacob Needleman, author of What Is God? and The American Soul
Larson is offering a pre-publication price of only $11.00, with delivery starting on April 16.

New Book – Grandfather and the Raven
“Follow the adventures of Grandfather Ueda and his pal Sir Raven as they solve a mystery of missing golf balls from a local driving range, rescue a boy, cheer a runner to a high school championship, investigate a “bird lice infestation”, chase away a grocery thief, call an unruly meeting to order in a surprising way, meet a dog that looks and sounds like a bear when he growls, and generally have a great good time wondering what this pair will be up to next.
“These are the kind of stories that grandfathers have told throughout the ages, leaving the reader and hearer with a sense of adventure, fun and good humor — especially when grandmother and grandfather have their little disagreements! Enjoyable for all ages.”

Review, September 28, 2009 Coming of age is spiritual *****
Finally, a novel that not only offers an exciting plot line, an endearing heroine, and human relationships that are believable and sympathetic but also introduces a continuous thread of spiritual teaching that informs and advances the plot – a teaching about love, compassion and healing. Through the author’s deft writing we watch the characters grow and change within the light of Caroline’s mystical experience. Anyone at any age will enjoy this story because it is essentially about who we are and the joy of discovering our true identity. At the same time the author captures the enthusiasm and idealism of youth, without which our world could not evolve.

Hello. As one or two of you may know, I have Multiple Sclerosis and was forced to retired from teaching this past February. Retirement has its compensation, though. I’ve been able to write a lot, or turn blood into ink, as the poet Yeats put it. In June, I had a small book of short stories published by Wild Leaf Press entitled Life on the Planet. (ISBN and everything, lol.) I would appreciate any support you can give me with this book which can be obtained at the website: wildleafpress.com. Excerpts of the book are there, as well as a book review. Thank you—Steve Sangirardi: Bard715@aol.com

The 2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards have announced that Last Call is a finalist in a number of categories including General Fiction/Novel, Best Regional Fiction, Best Cover Design and Best Overall Design.
Although I had absolutely nothing to do with the Cover Design or Overall Design (Amy Collins and the gang at The Cadence Group) I am ecstatic.
Earlier this year, Last Call was announced as a finalist by ForeWord Magazine as 2008 Book of the Year in the fiction category and won the Reader Views 2008 Award for Best Regional Fiction.
